Another advantage of the Texas Nonsubscriber Option is the way employee benefit contributions are kept current for the disabled. Workers’ compensation programs delay those collections and eliminate them from payroll deduction, until the employee returns to health. Although this delayed approach sounds advantageous, it actually decreases an employee’s ability to continue their benefits.
